Piggy Bank Bazaar
A Craft Fair
for Children
Hello Everyone,
“The Robins are
here!” Yep, sure sign that Spring has arrived. Our resident woodland
critters have woken up from their winter naps too. We have spotted the
rabbit, the raccoon, the ground hog, and the skunk. Now that the snow
has melted, the squirrels are madly digging up their well-hidden food
stash. The lawn looks like Polo was played through it. The song birds
are out competing for prime “Real Estate”. There is a competition going
on between the Sparrows & the House Finches. Why all the fuss you may
ask? They have Hawks to contend with and it is important for them where
to hide their nest. (The eaves of the porch is a prime spot around
here.) We will know soon enough who has won.
The Wednesday Morning
Workshop Members have welcomed some new budding artists and experienced
crafters who have joined us in creating out-of-the-ordinary handmade
crafts inspired by your donated items.
The Workshop meetings
for April will be on the 2nd, 9th, (not the 16th), on the 23rd and 30th,
in the Education Center, rooms 13 and 15 at 9:30am to 11:30am. (Just a
weather reminder, if the Wappingers’ Schools are closed or on a delay,
there will be no meeting for us.) A few crafting Cupboard items to
restock are: small jewelry boxes with lids, tacky glue, hot glue sticks
(mini & standard sizes), acrylic craft paints: colors; white, black,
shades of reds, greens, blues, golds, and browns, small pointed detailed
paint brushes, polyester fiber fill stuffing, pompoms, jingle bells, and
macramé cord. Donations of small gifts are greatly appreciated too. All
donations can be left in room 15. Thank you.
